One of the concerns we receive from people looking to purchase steel structures is how to improve the "finish" of the exterior. Most of us have an image that comes up when we imagine a steel structure, and it is likely to look dull and gray. But this isn't the case! Metal structures are available in a range of styles, colors, and decorative finishes like brick veneer, stucco, and faux rock or stone. If you're unsure about building a steel structure because you are worried it will not be visually appealing, check this list and determine which option is best for your needs. We're confident that a metal structure does not need to be boring, and it can be attractive and appealing.
Stucco is among the most sought-after façade options that are available. It is a great way to enhance aesthetics and be a part of the design. It can also blend into your surroundings in case that's a concern. Stucco is also an option that will help make your metal structure more appealing while also being cost-effective. There are three options for using stucco on your metal building's façade: traditional stucco, stucco panels, and stucco flex.
Traditional stucco looks similar to the style that is found on houses for sale. For this appearance, it is often incorporated in the metal building plans but usually will require a spandrel to take on the load of the wall exterior. If a spandrel is to be used, it will likely cost more to build, but for certain types of exterior finishes, it may be a major element in selecting the type of building.
Stucco panels may be erected directly on the building, just similar to traditional siding. The panels provide an attractive stucco finish with insulation benefits and can be found in a variety of shades.
Stucco flex is the cheapest alternative for stucco for steel structures. It's a spray-on product that is applied on the corrugated siding of the metal as well as foam board. The stucco flex gives an appearance of flat stucco.
Brick veneer can be bonded to the frame of the metal building using a swivel tie that can be adjusted to transfer the load laterally. In the era of farmhouse design, the option gives the classic brick look to your metal structure without the expense and weight. Brick veneer is water resistant and fire resistant. It helps in the cooling and heating of your structure.
Another option found on metal structures and houses is faux rock or stone. It's an easy option on almost every surface. Faux stone or veneer is a more cost-effective alternative to real rock or stone and can add the same aesthetic appeal to your house. It is available in kinds of colors, styles, and shapes. The faux rock and stone veneers can be used to complement your home with other exterior finishes or used alone to enhance your metal structure.
